Starting October 21, 2009 Mum will be on their USA / CANADA tour. You should  get to the show early if you want to get your hands on one of these because the band is limiting 5-10 per concert. Dont forget to sign our Northern Owl guest book with a feather and ink!

Riff Cannon just received their art work from Santos so I experimented on some new packaging. This is only a sample.

This is only a sample. Final production could look totally different. Please keep checking the blog for updated photos. 

This Batillus sample is a handmade book using heavy white card stock paper for the cover, recycled paper for the pages, and black hemp rope to tie it all together.  Reverse abstract stamp using painted dead grass for the cover art. Torn black card stock added for texture and shape. Batillus is stamped with black ink. More photos will be posted once production starts. 

Limited 50 to 100 at most. 

RIFF CANNON

Boston band "Riff Cannon" is doing a 3 day mini tour this coming weekend.  We did a limited run of 25 cds for the tour. All Hand cut card stock with embossed mountain and text. The mountain stamp is drawn and cut prior to emboss printing. These cds will only be available on tour. 

Mum - "Sing along to songs you don't know"

Here is the album art work for the limited edition handmade release as well as the normal release which was created by another artist. 

This record is scheduled to be released late August of 2009. 

Project MUM!

Icelandic band Mum has asked us to start working on handmade cd packaging for their upcoming album "Sing along to songs you don't know" 

I decided to go with an old book theme. Each book is handmade using super heavy card stock, hemp rope, recycled paper, natural cotton fabric, and best of all, each has a very woodsy scent! 

Mum's original (non handmade) release uses a glowing candle for the art work so I wanted to incorporate this into this packaging. I carved the candle design by hand using a rubber block and carving knives. I am very happy with the end results. 

I also handmade slip covers for the book using natural cotton.
